ORDINANCE NO. 930437

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust whereby MAST will provide a dedicated ambulance to KCI Airport for one year beginning May 1, 1993, for which the City will pay $387,170.00 from previously appropriated funds, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri acting through its Director of Health, and the Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST), acting through its Executive Director, whereby MAST agrees to provide the Kansas City International Airport with a dedicated ambulance for a period of twelve months beginning May 1, 1993, is hereby approved and accepted. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the City shall pay for such services in an amount not to exceed a total of $387,170.00; $134,400.00 from funds appropriated in Account No. 100-051-2141-B and $252,770.00 from funds appropriated in Account No. 821-062-2310-B KCI-Airport Safety, by Ordinance No. 930319.

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
