RESOLUTION NO. 160487
Honoring Phyllis L. Woodson,
Engineering Technician, on her retirement from the City of Kansas City Missouri
after 27 years of dedicated service.
WHEREAS, Phyllis
L. Woodson’s employment with the City of Kansas City Missouri, Water Services
Department began on June 10, 1987 and again on June 9, 1997; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis
has processed permits for 20 years for City Planning and Public Works’ Street
& Traffic Divisions. She has served in several capacities and departments
including Water Services, Human Relations, Land Development, Finance, City
Planning and Public Works; and
WHEREAS, during
Phyllis’ years of service, she has made a lasting impact by playing a vital
role in the development of many projects throughout the City of Kansas City
Missouri including the Zona Rosa Shopping Area, Sprint Center and the Power
& Light District. Phyllis has worked with several contractors, developers
and construction companies to ensure seamless processing of excavation and
building permits; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis
has embraced her colleagues who she has created a special bond and feels that
she has fulfilled her obligation as an employee with no regrets. It’s time to
close this chapter of her life and begin another new and exciting one as she
enjoys spending her time volunteering, traveling, tutoring elementary students,
learning African & Salsa Dancing, participating in the “Divas Book Club”,
serving at Church Triumphant World Overcomers International Church,
representing the 23rd Ward as a Committeewoman, and participating on the
nominating committee of Freedom, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, after
27 years, Phyllis is looking forward to spending time with her family, friends
and Children (Kendra, Ashlee and Phillip) and is anxiously awaiting the arrival
of her new grandson; and
WHEREAS, June
29, 2016, will mark the last day of Phyllis L. Woodson’s career with the City of Kansas City Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council hereby honor Phyllis L. Woodson, Engineering Technician, on her
retirement from the City of Kansas City Missouri after 27 years of dedicated
service; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Phyllis L. Woodson
with the thanks of the Mayor and Council for her years of dedicated service and
their wishes for a very happy retirement.
