Honoring Helena Jonsson for her perfect ACT score.

WHEREAS, Helena Jonssons recipe for test-taking success has three easy steps: A good nights rest, a good breakfast and a good attitude; and

WHEREAS, Helena Jonsson recently took the ACT and scored a perfect 36 on it. Math, 36, English, 36, Science, 36, and Reading, 36; and

WHEREAS, those scores, the highest possible on the American College Testing college assessment, represent an exceptional achievement. Of 36,000 Missouri students who took the ACT last fall, Jonsson was the only one to post a composite score of 36. In 1996-97, no one in Missouri did that; and

WHEREAS, nationwide, only 27 of 645,000 students scored that high last fall. What is more, the 17 year old Kansas City, North, resident is only a junior; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Helena Jonsson their most heartfelt congratulations on receiving a perfect ACT score; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Helena Jonsson in token of the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for her outstanding performance.
