RESOLUTION NO. 940088
Honoring Brenton D. Myers on the occasion of his
retirement.
WHEREAS, Brenton D. Myers has announced his
retirement from the City on January 31, 1994, after 25 years and 1 month of
public service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Myers began work for the Kansas City
Department of Aviation as a Civil Engineer on December 30, 1968; was promoted
to Assistant to the Airport Engineer on December 13, 1970; was named Assistant
Director of Aviation for Planning and Development on May 25, 1974; and
WHEREAS, during his years of service, Brent Myers
has left his mark on the modern aviation facilities of this City, participating
in the development and construction of KCI Airport, completion of the 1980 KCI
Master Plan, KCI Master Plan Update, the current FAR Part 150 Noise Study and
the new north-south runway; and
WHEREAS, Brent Myers has directed the land use
planning and development and the renovation of facilities at Kansas City
Downtown Airport for the past twenty years and has actively participated in the
land use planning and development of Richards- Gebaur, including the current
Transition Study; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Myers has well represented the City and
the Department of Aviation as liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration,
Missouri Highway and Transportation Department, City Council Operations and
Aviation Committee, City Plan Commission, Municipal Art Commission, Kansas City
Airline Committee, Airport Council International - North America, Radio
Technical Commission for Aeronautics, American Association of Airport
Executives and many other committees and organizations; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Brenton Myers has
represented the best in public service, displaying the highest degree of
professionalism, dedication and courtesy; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby express their
sincere appreciation, and that of the people of Kansas City, to Mr. Brenton D.
Myers upon his retirement, for his many years of dedicated service for the
government and the governed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be
spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy
hereof be presented to him in token of the hearty best wishes of the Mayor and
Council for a healthy and prosperous retirement.
