COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 130171

 

Reducing appropriations and appropriating funds from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund; estimating revenues and appropriating funds from the Unappropriated Fund Balances of the City Legal Expense Fund, Workmen’s Compensation Fund and the Water Fund; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the appropriation in the following account of the General Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

13-1000-179990-B Contingent Appropriation $1,080,000.00

Section 2. That $1,080,000.00 is hereby appropriated to the following accounts of the General Fund in the following amounts:

13-1000-129998-X Transfer to City Legal Expense $ 600,000.00

13-1000-129998-X Transfer to Worker's Compensation 370,000.00

13-1000-892303-E Emerald Ash Bore Drop-Off Site 110,000.00

TOTAL $1,080,000.00

 

Section 3. That the revenue in the amount of $750,000.00 is estimated in the following account of the Water Fund:

 

13-8010-80000-466000 Sale of Water $ 750,000.00

 

Section 4. That $750,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Fund to the following account:

 

13-8010-801000-B Settlement of Claims $ 750,000.00

 

Section 5. That the revenue in the amount of $1,350,000.00 is estimated in the following accounts of the City Legal Expense Fund:

 

13-1010-120000-501000 Transfer From the General Fund $ 600,000.00

13-1010-131521-485740 General Liability Insurance Premiums 750,000.00

TOTAL $1,350,000.00

 

Section 6. That the revenue in the amount of $370,000.00 is estimated in the following account of the Workers Compensation Fund:

 

13-1011-120000-501000 Transfer From the General Fund $ 370,000.00

 


Section 7. That $1,350,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the City Legal Expense Fund to the following account:

 

13-1010-131521-B General Liability Claims $1,350,000.00

 

Section 8. That $370,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Workmen's Compensation Fund to the following account:

 

13-1011-131540-B Workmen's Compensation Claims $ 370,000.00

 

Section 9. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
