ORDINANCE NO. 120284
Accepting and approving a $128,437.00
contract amendment with Truman Medical Center to provide additional Medical
Case Management services to eligible clients in the Kansas City Transitional
Grant Area who meet Ryan White guidelines; and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, Truman
Medical Center provides medical case management services to eligible clients in
the Kansas City Transitional Grant Area (TGA) who meet Ryan White Part B
guidelines; and
WHEREAS, this
contract amendment will provide for additional funding to allow Truman to
continue to serve HIV/AIDS clients in the Kansas City TGA; and
WHEREAS, this
ordinance is declared an emergency measure within the provisions of Section
503(a)(2) of the City Charter in that it relates to the immediate preservation
of the public health, namely issues regarding HIV/AIDS; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
a contract amendment between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through
its Director of Health, and Truman Medical Center, Inc, acting through its
Executive Director, whereby Truman Medical Center will provide medical case
management services to eligible clients in the Kansas City Transitional Grant
Area (TGA) for the contract period of April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2013, for
a total amount not to exceed $377,336.00, to be paid from funds previously
appropriated in Account No. 12-2480-505404-B, is hereby accepted and approved.
A copy of the amendment, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a
part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the Director is hereby
authorized to extend the term of this contract without further Council approval
and that the Director is also hereby authorized to amend this contract to
increase or decrease the total contract dollar amount contingent upon the need
and availability of appropriated funds.
Section 3. That this ordinance is declared an
emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503(a)(2) of the City
Charter in that it relates to the immediate preservation of the public health,
and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
