ORDINANCE NO. 931322

Authorizing the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the Director of Fire Department, on behalf of Kansas City, to extend the Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri until December 31, 1993, to participate in the County's Drug Abatement Response Team to control illegal drug houses and authorizing the Director of Finance to accept payment from Jackson County for this participation.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the appropriation in the following account of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

234-023-2311A FD Interdisciplinary Task Force-93 $21,500.00

Section 2. That the sum of $21,500.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund to the following accounts in the Police Drug Enforcement Fund:

234-021-2656A PD Interdisciplinary Task Force-93 $15,000.00 234-057-2312A NCS Interdisciplinary Task Force-93 6,500.00 $21,500.00

Section 3. That the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to extend the Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri until December 31, 1993 to provide a housing inspector to participate in the DART program as specified in the addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

Section 4. That the Director of Fire Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to extend the Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri until December 31, 1993 to provide a fire inspector's services as a participant in the DART program as set forth in the addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

Section 5. That the Director of Finance Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to accept payment from Jackson County, Missouri for the services the City provides to the DART program as set forth in the addendum to Memorandum of Understanding which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
