COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 970352

 

Approving a second amendment to the Sports Complex Area Plan generally bounded by 23rd Street on the north, Chrysler Avenue on the east, 67th Street on the south and the Big Blue River on the west, by changing the land use designation for the southwest corner of 23rd Street Trafficway and Blue Ridge Boulevard from residential-single family to commercial intensive and industry.

 

WHEREAS, the Sports Complex Area Plan was developed as a guide for the development and redevelopment of that area generally bounded by 23rd Street on the north, Chrysler Avenue on the east, 67th Street on the south, and the Big Blue River on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, the Sports Complex Area Plan was approved by Resolution No. 42009, adopted January 19, 1973, and was amended by Resolution No. 960664, adopted July 2, 1996; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Development Department has initiated a study of the area to determine further modifications in light of changed circumstances for the Sports Complex area; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed second amendment includes changing the recommended land uses for the area generally located at the southwest corner of 23rd Street Trafficway and Blue Ridge Boulevard as indicated on the proposed Land Use Map in Exhibit "A" from residential-single family to commercial intensive and industry; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the second amendment to the Sports Complex Area Plan as delineated on Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby approved. Said second amendment changes the land use designation for the area generally located at the southwest corner of 23rd Street Trafficway and Blue Ridge Boulevard from residential-single family to commercial intensive and industry.

 

Section B. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed action hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
