FOR ORDINANCE NO. 070704
Authorizing a $125,000.00 Fourth
Amendment to an Agreement with TranSystems Corporation for Design Professional
services for Project No. 89008037 87th Street from Blue River Road to Denver
Avenue; authorizing the City Manager to expend $125,000.00 for the project;
authorizing the City Manager to charge up to $1,050,000.00 for project
management costs associated with this project; designating requisitioning
authority; and recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into and execute, on
behalf of the City, a $125,000.00 Fourth Amendment to Agreement No. 000244 with
TranSystems Corporation for Design Professional engineering services for Project
No. 89008037-001 Construction Observation Services for 87th Street from Blue
River Road to Denver Avenue, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, Council
District No. 6. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Capital Improvements
Management Office and is incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. That
the City Manager is authorized to expend previously appropriated funds up to
the amount of $125,000.00 from Account No.
3090-898816-B-89008037 87th
St - Blue River Rd to Denver Ave $125,000.00
Section 3. That
the City Manager is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account
No. 3090-898816-B-89008037.
Section 4. That the
City Manager is hereby authorized to charge up to $1,050,000.00 for project
management costs associated with this project.
Section 5. That
this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of
Section 503 of the City Charter in that it relates to the design, repair,
maintenance or construction of a public improvement, and shall take effect in
accordance with that section.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
