RESOLUTION NO. 200775

 

Supporting an application to the U.S. Department of Justice for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, submitted an application to the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice, for the Justice Assistance Grant (“JAG”) Program, on August 19, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, the application is for funding in the amount of $588,501.00, which must be shared by Kansas City, Jackson County, Grandview, Raytown and Independence to be used for policing and community crime prevention efforts; and

 

WHEREAS, as required by the U.S. Department of Justice, representatives of the jurisdictions agreed upon individual allocations; and

 

WHEREAS, under the agreement, Kansas City and Jackson County are allocated $517,234.41, Independence is allocated $50,022.59, Raytown is allocated 10,829.00, and Grandview is allocated $10,452.00; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

 That the Mayor and Council acknowledge and support this application to the U.S. Department of Justice for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.
