ORDINANCE NO. 030955, AS AMENDED
Amending Chapter 2, Code
of Ordinances, by repealing Section 2-1101, Funeral leave, and enacting in lieu
thereof one new section of like number relating to the same general subject matter.
BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
Chapter 2, Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, is hereby
amended by repealing Section 2-1101, Funeral Leave, and enacting in lieu
thereof one new section of like number and subject matter, to read as follows:
Sec. 2-1101. Funeral
leave.
(a) Generally.
Funeral leave for all regular employees allocated to classes within the
managerial, professional, supervisory or confidential group shall be for a
maximum of 24 duty hours to attend a funeral in the immediate family of the
employee. The term "immediate family" is defined for the purpose of
this section as husband, wife, domestic partner who is registered in the
domestic partner registry maintained by the City Clerk, domestic partners son
or daughter, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law,
father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren and
stepchildren of the employee.
(b) Local
500--AFSCME. Funeral leave for all regular employees allocated to classes
covered under the provisions of a memorandum of understanding between the city
and Local 500--American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees
shall receive funeral leave under the provisions of the memorandum of
understanding in effect.
(c) Local
42--IAFF. Funeral leave for all regular employees allocated to classes
covered under the provisions of a memorandum of understanding between the city
and Local 42--International Association of Fire Fighters shall receive funeral
leave under the provisions of the memorandum of understanding in effect.
(c) Local
3808--IAFF. Funeral leave for all regular employees allocated to classes
covered under the provisions of a memorandum of understanding between the city
and Local 3808--International Association of Fire Fighters shall receive
funeral leave under the provisions of the memorandum of understanding in
effect.
