ORDINANCE NO. 961266
Authorizing the Director of the Office of Environmental
Management to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of
Parkville, Missouri, whereby the City will provide household hazardous waste
management services to the residents of Parkville, and directing the City Clerk
to record the agreement.
WHEREAS, the City has opened a permanent Household
Hazardous Waste Facility; and
WHEREAS, the City has been cooperating with the
Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District to plan ways in
which regional household hazardous waste services can be provided in a
cost-effective manner from the facility; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Parkville desires to have
services available to its citizens as soon as possible; and,
WHEREAS, revenues from the Parkville Agreement and
other regional services will be accumulated and estimated in fiscal year 1997
for appropriation to pay the incremental costs of providing services to persons
other than Kansas City citizens; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of the Office of
Environmental Management is hereby authorized on behalf of the City to enter
into an agreement with the City of Parkville, Missouri, whereby the City will
provide household hazardous waste management services to the residents of
Parkville. The agreement shall substantially conform to the agreement which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to record a copy of this ordinance in the Office of the Secretary of State for
the State of Missouri and in the Office of the Director of Records for Platte
County, Missouri at Kansas City as required by Section 70.300 of the Revised
Statutes of Missouri for such agreements.
