ORDINANCE NO. 171006

 

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve a maintenance agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (hereinafter, “Commission”) for the Broadway Traffic Synchronization Project, (hereinafter, “The Project”) which would allow the Public Works Department to build “The Project” on “Commission” right-of-way at three intersection along Broadway Boulevard.

 

WHEREAS, the City Council provided funds in the amount of $900,000.00 for construction of the Broadway Traffic Synchronization Project on June 29, 2017 with Ordinance No. 170361; and

 

WHEREAS, the design is complete and ready for construction; and

 

WHEREAS, this maintenance agreement is a no cost agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, this maintenance agreement allows the Public Works Department to build this project on MHTC right-of-way (ROW) at three locations along Broadway Boulevard at 5th Street, 6th Street and I-670; and

 

WHEREAS, this maintenance agreement allows the City to own and maintain the adaptive signal system installed in MoDOT right-of-way; and

 

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department will be the project administrator for the Broadway Traffic Synchronization Project; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a maintenance agreement with the “Commission” which would allow the Public Works Department to build “The Project” on “Commission” right-of-way at three locations along Broadway Boulevard.
