ORDINANCE NO. 120647

Accepting and approving a one year $36,950.00 contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct preventive health screening of all newly arriving refugees in Kansas City.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will provide funding for health screenings, including assessments of immunization status and examinations for tuberculosis, parasites and Hepatitis B to newly arriving refugees for the period beginning August 15, 2012 through August 14, 2013, for a total amount not to exceed $36,950.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $27,712.50 from funds appropriated to Account No. 13-2480-505408- G50240614 for the aforesaid contract.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
