RESOLUTION NO. 210061

Honoring Sean Hennessy on his retirement after 27 years and 2 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Sean’s started work at the City of Kansas City, Missouri as a contract employee with the City Auditor’s Office on May 24, 1993 before becoming an Auditor I on October 18, 1993 and promoted to Auditor II in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Sean came over to the Water Services Department in 2000 promoting to a Senior Analyst, then promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2010, and promoted to Deputy Director in 2018; and

WHEREAS, during Sean’s time with the City, he passed examinations meeting requirements to become a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) in 1998 and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) in 2003, as well as medaled in multiple Corporate Challenge events annually while working for the City; and

WHEREAS, Sean looks forward to retirement to continue raising his three children along with his wife of 34 years, fixing mopeds and motorcycles, and getting a part-time job; and

WHEREAS, December 31, 2020 marked the last day of Sean’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mr. Sean Hennessy, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with appreciation for his 27 years and 2 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Sean in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard, and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
