COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 970634

Amending Article III of the Code of Ordinances by enacting a new Section 2.52 "Budget Process," providing for an additional step in the budget process.

WHEREAS, the Council desires to implement a procedure that will permit earlier and more deliberate consideration of the budget; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section A. That Article III of the Code of Ordinances "City Manager" is amended by enacting a new Section 2.52 "Budget Process" to read as follows:

Section 2.52. Budget Process.

The Council, acting as committee of the whole, will meet on or before November 15

of each year and on or before December 15 of each year, to consider funding priorities for the next year's budget.
