ORDINANCE NO. 980265

 

Authorizing a joint funding agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, for an investigation of the effects of combined storm sewer overflows on the water quality in the Brush Creek and Blue River areas of Kansas City, Missouri; and authorizing expenditure of funds in the amount of $207,000.00.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a joint funding agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, for an investigation of the effects of combined storm sewer overflows on the water quality in the Brush Creek and Blue River areas of Kansas City, Missouri. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is further authorized to expend up to the sum of $207,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to the following account to satisfy the City's portion of the work included in the above-described project.

 

98-811-080-7726-T Sewer Construction $207,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
