RESOLUTION NO. 990249
Accepting
the rates charged by American Cablevision for basic service and associated
installation and equipment charges.
WHEREAS,
the City has been certified by the Federal Communications Commission to
regulate the rates charged by American Cablevision for basic service and the
equipment and installation necessary to receive that service; and
WHEREAS,
the City has reviewed the Federal Communications Commission Forms 1240 and 1205
used to establish the level of lawful rates; and
WHEREAS,
this Resolution is considered pursuant to Resolution No. 951075, which adopted
rules to be followed by the City in reviewing cable television rates; and
WHEREAS,
the terms of the rules adopted by Resolution No. 951075 have been met, including
notice of this meeting being cablecast on the bulletin board found on the City
Government Channel; and
WHEREAS,
attached to this Resolution is a Report on Cable Television Basic Service
Rates-American Cablevision dated February 22, 1999; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section
1. That since the Federal Communications Commission rules authorize the rate
proposed by American Cablevision for its basic service, pursuant to FCC
requirements, the maximum monthly rate of $7.71 for basic service is accepted.
Section
2. That since the Federal Communications Commission rules authorize the rate
proposed by American Cablevision for its installation and equipment necessary
to provide basic service, the rate reflected in the report attached to this
Resolution, and incorporated by reference, are accepted.
