ORDINANCE NO. 940558
Approving and accepting an HIV Emergency Relief
Supplemental Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the
amount of $1,403,852.00 for one year beginning April 4, 1994; estimating revenue
and appropriating that amount to an expenditure account; designating the
Director of Health as the requisitioning authority for the account; and
recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That an HIV Emergency Relief
Supplemental Grant from the United States Department of Health and Human
Services, Public Health Service, Bureau of Health Resources Development, in the
amount of $1,403,852.00, to be administered by the City's Health Department for
a one year period beginning April 4, 1994 through April 3, 1995, is hereby
accepted and approved.
Section 2. That the following revenue account is
established in the Grants Fund and the same be estimated in the following
amount:
95-273-050-7975 95 - Ryan White Title I Suppl.
$1,403,852.00
Section 3. That the following expenditure account
is established in the Grants Fund and the sum of $1,403,852.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance to the following account in
the Grants Fund:
95-273-050-2445-A Ryan White Title I Supp - 95 $
46,418.00 95-273-050-2445-B Ryan White Title I Supp - 95 1,349,084.00
95-273-050-2445-C Ryan White Title I Supp - 95 350.00
95-273-050-2445-E Ryan White title I Supp - 95
8,000.00 TOTAL $1,403,852.00
Section 4. That the Director of Health is hereby
designated as the requisitioning authority for Account No. 95-273-050-2445.
Section 5. That this ordinance, making provision
for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public
health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article
II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect
immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure
is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury,
to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to
meet the obligation hereby incurred.
