ORDINANCE NO. 150123

 

Authorizing a $1,100,000.00 contract with CDM Smith, Inc. for the Birmingham and Westside Wastewater Treatment Plants Grit Removal, Aeration, and Digester Improvements Project; authorizing a maximum expenditure of $2,000,000.00 without further City Council approval; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services Department is hereby authorized to execute Contract No. 1171, Project Nos. 81000500 and 81000501, in the amount of $1,100,000.00, with CDM Smith, Inc., for design professional services for the Birmingham and Westside Wastewater Treatment Plants Grit Removal, Aeration, and Digester Improvements Project. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend up to the sum of $1,100,000.00 from Account Nos. AL-8186-807714-B-611040-81000500 ($400,000.00), Treatment Facilities, and AL-8185-807714-B-611040-81000500 ($700,000.00), Treatment Facilities, to satisfy the cost of this contract.

 

Section 3. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to approve a maximum expenditure of $2,000,000.00 for design professional services without additional City Council approval.

 

Section 4. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.
