RESOLUTION NO. 050960

Congratulating CiCi Rojas on her appointment as vice president of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and thanking her for her service to the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners since 2003.

WHEREAS, CiCi Rojas was appointed by Mayor Kay Barnes to the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners in May 2003; and

WHEREAS, Commissioner Rojas represented the Board with distinction throughout the community in working with various advocacy groups and partners of Parks and Recreation; and

WHEREAS, Commissioner Rojas served as a Board representative with the Friends Of Penn Valley organization, the Tony Aguirre Community Center Advisory Board, the Mill Creek Park Advisory Board, the Kansas City, Missouri Zoning and Ordinance Steering Committee and the Downtown Streetscape Committee; and

WHEREAS, Commissioner Rojas is well respected as a consensus builder in working closely with neighborhood organizations, community groups and individuals; and

WHEREAS, Commissioner Rojas served exceptionally in her role as a citizen advocate for the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, CiCi Rojas will now serve the Hispanic business community in the United States in her new role; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and City Council applaud and thank CiCi Rojas for her service to the citizens of Kansas City through the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners and her numerous community activities;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to CiCi Rojas with the best wishes of the Mayor and Council for her continued success in our nations capital working for the Hispanic business community for many years to come.
