RESOLUTION NO. 110415
Supporting
the Application by the Aviation Department to the Certified Site Program of the
State of Missouri’s Department of Economic Development.
WHEREAS, the State of
Missouri’s Department of Economic Development has established a Certified Site
Program to provide consistent standards regarding the availability and
developmental potential of commercial or industrial developmental sites; and
WHEREAS, site
pre-qualification through the Certified Site process provides a standardized
tool by which both development professionals and business prospects can review
prospective sites for compatibility with development needs; and
WHEREAS, site
certification is performed through a comprehensive review of the many issues
facing businesses as they search for areas to relocate or expand, including
availability of utilities, site access, environmental concerns, land use
conformance and potential site development costs; and
WHEREAS, having a
site “certified” reduces the risk associated with development by providing
consistent information; and
WHEREAS, the Aviation Department, in conjunction with
Trammell Crow, is developing the KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre. The first phase
of the project comprises 188 acres within a 620-acre site. The site is located
at 112th Street and I-29 at Kansas City International Airport; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL
OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and City Council
hereby acknowledge their full support of the Application by the Aviation
Department to the Certified Site Program of the State of Missouri’s Department
of Economic Development.
