RESOLUTION NO. 961272
Honoring and recognizing Charles M. Fisher upon his
retirement.
WHEREAS, Charles M. Fisher has been a member of the
Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department for 39 years. He has served in all ranks
within that organization and on March 1, 1992, he was promoted to the rank of
Fire Chief/Director; and
WHEREAS, Charles M. Fisher has an Associate Degree
in Fire Science and a Bachelor Degree in Public Service Administration from
Ottawa University. He also completed several resident programs at the National
Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland; and
WHEREAS, Charles M. Fisher belongs to several Fire
Chief organizations at local, state and national levels. He has worked closely
with the private sector in designing Public Fire Education programs for
specific hazards. He is also the team coordinator for the Kansas City Fire
Department's Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team, and is serving on an
advisory board to develop other CISD Teams in the metropolitan area; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Charles
M. Fisher their most heartfelt congratulations and thanks for his leadership
and commitment to public safety and his 39 years of service to the citizens of
Kansas City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be
spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy
hereof be presented to Charles M. Fisher with the best wishes of the Mayor,
Council and citizens of Kansas City on his retirement.
