RESOLUTION NO. 130393

 

Congratulating Park Hill and Park Hill South High School Broadcast Journalism students and the entire staff from both schools for reaching new heights in student journalism.

 

WHEREAS, the Student Television Network presents national awards in recognition of excellence in scholastic broadcast television and honor the special skills and unique talents of broadcasting and film students from across the nation; and

 

WHEREAS, the following Park Hill South High School students received awards at the Student Television Network Fall Nationals: 1st Place for Weather Reporting went to Hunter Norton, 2nd Place for Live Interview went to Rachel Schisler, and 3rd Place for News Story went to Rachel Schisler and Tess Jordan; and

 

WHEREAS, the following Park Hill High School students received awards at the Student Television Network Fall Nationals: 1st Place in Live Interviews went to Jordan Elder, 2nd Place in Weather Reporting went to Paxton DiBlasi (entry 1), 3rd Place in Weather Reporting went to Paxton DiBlasi (entry 2); NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate Park Hill and Park Hill South High School Broadcast Journalism students and staff members for excellence in journalism at a Metropolitan and National level; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the above mentioned award recipients and their teachers with the congratulations of the Mayor and Council for the many awards the schools received and for their outstanding educational program.
