RESOLUTION NO. 141054

 

Honoring Thomas John on his retirement from the City of Kansas City, Missouri after 19 years and 11 months of dedicated service.

 

WHEREAS, Thomas John worked in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department as a member of the Survey Crew in the Public Works Engineering Division and as a member of the Capital Planning Section from 1995-2007; and

 

WHEREAS, Thomas John also worked in the Streets and Traffic Division, now Capital Projects Division of Public Works Department, as a member of the Transportation & Planning Section from 2007-2014; and

 

WHEREAS, Thomas John has devoted over 8 years as an adult volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, 5 years of which he served as Cub master of Cub Pack 62, and served 2 years as Co-President of the Boone School PTA; and

 

WHEREAS, Thomas John has a long-standing love of genealogy and researching his family’s history; and

 

WHEREAS, Thomas John is looking forward to spending quality time with his wife, sons, daughters in law, and grandchildren and enjoying his new life of leisure; and

 

WHEREAS, December 31, 2014, will mark the last day of Thomas John’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY;

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Thomas John, on the occasion of his retirement from City service , the heartfelt best wishes for his future, together with the appreciation for his total of 19 years and 11 months of dedicated and devoted service to the citizens of this great City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Thomas John in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
