Honoring Pat
Gallagher and extending to her the appreciation, gratitude and respect for her
work on behalf of Mayor Barnes and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
WHEREAS, Pat
Gallagher began her work in the Mayors office on April 10, 1999. after working
on Kay Barnes mayoral campaign; and
WHEREAS, in her capacity in the Mayors office, Pat Gallagher wrote
thousands of proclamations and resolutions, as well as letters for the Mayor,
and she also served on the United Negro College Fund Advisory Board, the board
of YouthNet, the Governor's Council on Disability, the Education Policy Advisor
Network, the Child Abuse Round Table, and the President's Advisory Committee
for MCC-Penn Valley whereupon she received the President's Award from
Metropolitan Community College (2005-06); and
WHEREAS, Pat Gallagher raised over $10,000.00 in 2006 so the Operation Breakthrough
children could go to Disneyland, the Aquarium of the Pacific and the ocean when
they went to Anaheim for the All America City competition, and she also worked
to persuade the editors of area newspapers to stop carrying classified ads for
automatic weapons and weapons from unlicensed dealers; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council do hereby honor Pat Gallagher and extend to her their appreciation,
gratitude and respect for her work on behalf of Mayor Barnes and the City of
Kansas City, Missouri; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Pat Gallagher with
appropriate recognition and appreciation.
