ORDINANCE NO. 960369

Authorizing an agreement with the Hardwick Law Firm and Gilmore & Bell for bond counsel services for various bond projects.

WHEREAS, the City has requested proposals for bond counsel and financial advisory services for a number of bond issues in the future; and

WHEREAS, the City received proposals, has evaluated those proposals based on experience and quality of work, proposed fees, and responsiveness to the Request for Proposals and desires to contract with the firms listed; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Attorney is authorized, on behalf of the City, to execute agreements with the Hardwick Law Firm and Gilmore & Bell, P.C. for the bond counsel services for the following bond projects expected to be completed in the 1996 calendar year at the approximate fees listed:

Project Approximate amount Fee of issue

General Obligation Bonds $10 - $12 million $6250.00-$7150.00 for construction of a bridge

Special Facility Airport Revenue Bonds $10 million $8500.00 for parking facilities

Water Revenue Bonds $24 million $14,500.00

The agreements are approved in substantial form as the agreement attached to this ordinance. Payment of fees and expenses under these agreements will be made from bond proceeds. No financial obligation will accrue to the City unless and until the bonds are sold.
