RESOLUTION NO. 171014

 

 

Recognizing the Blue Valley Redevelopment Opportunity Assessment as a guide for future redevelopment in an area generally bounded by the Missouri River on the north, Coal Mine Road on the south, Interstate Highway 435 on the east and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, Hardesty Avenue and North Topping Avenue on the west.

 

WHEREAS, the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, hired a consultant team to complete the Blue Valley Redevelopment Opportunity Assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, in coordination with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri the City Council, the City Planning and Development Department, and area stakeholders worked with the consultant on a strategic redevelopment and implementation framework for the area; and

 

WHEREAS, the Blue Valley Redevelopment Opportunity Assessment is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on December 5, 2007, recommend recognition of the Blue Valley Redevelopment Opportunity Assessment; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Blue Valley Redevelopment Opportunity Assessment is hereby recognized as a guide for future redevelopment in an area generally bounded by the Missouri River on the north, Coal Mine Road on the south, Interstate Highway 435 on the east and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, Hardesty Avenue and North Topping Avenue on the west.

 

Section B. That the Council finds, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
