ORDINANCE NO. 001297

Appropriating the sum of $5,600,000.00 representing Kansas City's share of the cost of construction of the South Terminal Pump Station.

WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 991333 on October 21, 1999 for approval of a Cooperative Agreement for Transmission System Improvements between Kansas City and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, the Agreement approved by Ordinance No. 991333 defines the general payment provisions and the specific cost distribution of the South Terminal project; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the sum of $5,600,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Fund 801 to the following account:

01-801-080-7040-T South Terminal P S $5,600,000.00

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend up to the sum of $5,600,000.00 appropriated above to satisfy the cost of Kansas City's share of the construction of the South Terminal Pump Station located at Ward Road and Persels Road in Lee's Summit.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
