RESOLUTION NO. 990065

 

Determining compliance of Phases I and II of the Twelfth and Wyandotte Redevelopment Project generally bounded by 11th Street, Baltimore Avenue, 13th Street, and Wyandotte and Central Avenues and authorizing issuance of a Certificate of Full Compliance to the L.M. Redevelopment Corporation for Phases I and II of the Twelfth and Wyandotte Redevelopment Project.

 

WHEREAS, the City Council did on December 10, 1992, pass Ordinance No. 921336, as amended, approve the application and the development plan submitted by the Hotel Redevelopment Corporation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Hotel Redevelopment Corporation assigned its interest in the plan to the L.M. Redevelopment Corporation on September 28, 1995; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council did on May 9, 1996, pass Ordinance No. 960476 which approved a first amendment to the development plan; and

 

WHEREAS, Phases I and II of the Twelfth and Wyandotte Redevelopment Project proposed the demolition of the old hotel, the construction of a new hotel with 410-430 rooms, the renovation of the existing Muehlebach Hotel Convention Center and the completion of a pedestrian walkway; and

 

WHEREAS, the L.M. Redevelopment Corporation has requested a Certificate of Full Compliance for Phases I and II of the Redevelopment Project; and

 

WHEREAS, Charles S. Cassias, Jr., a registered architect, has identified that the project is completed with the demolition of the old hotel, the construction of a new hotel with 410-430 rooms, the renovation of the existing Muehlebach Hotel Convention Center and the completion of a pedestrian walkway; and

 

WHEREAS, on December 15, 1998, the City Plan Commission reviewed the Development Plan and determined that the construction proposed in the Development Plan for Phases I and II of the Twelfth and Wyandotte Redevelopment Project has occurred and has recommended that the City Council authorize the issuance of a Certificate of Full Compliance to the L.M. Redevelopment Corporation for Phases I and II; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Council finds and determines that Phases I and II of the Twelfth and Wyandotte Redevelopment Project have been completed and the construction is in compliance with the Development Plan.

 


Section B. That the Council hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of City Development to issue a Certificate of Full Compliance to the L.M. Redevelopment Corporation pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Development Plan and Redevelopment Contract and pursuant to Section 74-17(d), Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for Phases I and II of the Twelfth and Wyandotte Redevelopment Project.
