ORDINANCE NO. 920354

 

Authorizing expenditure of an additional $169,352.00 for consideration on the refuse collection and disposal contract approved by Ordinance No. 910404 with Willey Enterprises, Inc. for the south contract area and declaring an emergency.

 

WHEREAS, those sums authorized to be expended for refuse collection in the south contract area have been exhausted; and

 

WHEREAS, additional sums which have already been appropriated, must be authorized for expenditure in order to continue collection in the area; and

 

WHEREAS, collection of waste is for the immediate preservation of the public health; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend an additional $169,352.00 from Account No. 1-40602-B, Refuse Collection, in connection with the contract between City of Kansas City, Missouri and Willey Enterprises, Inc., approved by Contract No. 900115 for refuse collection and disposal in the south contract area, bringing the total authorized expenditure to $1,352,877.00.

 

Section 2. That this ordinance, being for the immediate preservation of the public health, is declared to be an emergency and shall become effective immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
