Amending Chapter 80, Code of Ordinances, by
adding a new section to be known as Section 80-11A0133, rezoning an area of
approximately 20 acres generally bounded by 18th Street on the south,
Interstate 70 on the east, Benton Plaza on the north and Bellefontaine Avenue
on the west, from District URD (Urban Redevelopment District) to District M-2a
(Heavy Industry). (11745-P-8)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That Chapter 80, Code of
Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, 1996, commonly known as the
Zoning Ordinance, is hereby amended by enacting a new section to be known as
Section 80-11A0133, rezoning an area of approximately 20 acres generally
bounded by 18th Street on the south, Interstate 70 on the east, Benton Plaza on
the north and Bellefontaine Avenue on the west, from District URD (Urban
Redevelopment District) to District M-2a (Heavy Industry), said section to read
as follows:
Section 80-11A0133. That an area
legally described as:
A tract of land in the
South Half of Section 3 and the North Half of Section 10, Township 49 North,
Range 33 West, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, being more particularly
described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the west line of Lot 9,
City Park Addition, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, and
the south right of way line of the Kansas City Belt Railway Company, thence
North 6122'00" East continuing along said south right of way line a
distance of 93.28 feet to a point on the west line of Lot 11, City Park
Addition, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, thence North
0218'57" East a distance of 154.28 feet along said west line to a point
on the north line of said Section 10, thence North 8727'02" West along
said north line a distance of 96.11 feet, thence North 0218'57" East a
distance of 200.52 feet to a point on the south right of way line of 17th
Street as it is now established, thence South 8726'58" East along said
south right of way line a distance of 119.80 feet, thence North 0218'57"
East a distance of 473.50 feet to a point on the south right of way line of
16th Street as it is now established, thence South 8726'58" East along
said south right of way line a distance of 449.83 feet to a point on the west
right of way line of Missouri Interstate 70 as it is now established, thence
South 3118'07" East along said west right of way line a distance of 36.12
feet, thence South 0218'57" West along said west right of way line a
distance of 65.00 feet, thence South 8726'58" East along said west right
of way line a distance of 90.00 feet, thence South 6846'22" East along
said west right of way line a distance of 171.75 feet, thence South
218'57" West along said west right of way line a distance of 25.00 feet,
thence South 7318'23" East along said west right of way line a distance
of 50.58 feet, thence South 218'57" West along said west right of way
line a distance of 161.17 feet, thence South 5959'30" West along said west
right of way line a distance of 23.67 feet, thence South 218'57" West
along said west right of way line a distance of 147.87 feet, thence South
2127'54" East along said west right of way line a distance of 180.49
feet, thence South 2127'54" East along said west right of way line a
distance of 171.66 feet, thence South 0218'57" West along said west right
of way line a distance of 90.00 feet more or less to a point on the north right
of way line of 18th Street as now established, thence west along said north right
of way line a distance of 997.00 feet more or less to the west line of Lot 9,
City Park Addition, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri,
thence north along said west line to the point of beginning.
is hereby rezoned from District URD (Urban Redevelopment
District) to District M-2a (Heavy Industry), all as shown outlined on a map
marked Section 80-11A0133, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and
which is hereby adopted as a part of an amendment to the zoning maps
constituting a part of said chapter and as an amendment to Section 80-11
thereof.
Section B. That the Council finds
and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment
hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning Ordinance
have been given and had.
