Authorizing a Memorandum of Agreement with the U.S. Department of the Army for engineering and design studies and construction management in connection with the Blue River channel improvement project.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into and execute on behalf of the City, this Memorandum of Agreement between the U.S. Department of the Army and the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for engineering and design studies and construction management in regard to the City's relocations for the flood protection project for the Blue River channel in Kansas City, Missouri, Project No. 2232. The said agreement shall be essentially in the form attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $339,750.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to Account No. 309-089-7704T as and for the City's fiscal year 93/94 share of the cost of the aforesaid agreement.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
