Accepting and approving a
three-year Minority AIDS Initiative grant award in the amount of $187,284.00 from
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide funding for case
management services to minority populations; increasing revenue and
appropriations in the amount of $184,940.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund; and
designating requisitioning authority
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That a grant award agreement between the City
of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, acting through its Director of
Administration, whereby the Division of the Health Resources Administration will
provide funding for HIV case management services for affected minority
populations in the Kansas City, Missouri area for a period beginning of August
1, 2007 through July 31, 2010, for an amount not to exceed $187,284.00, is
hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the award, in substantial form, is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That
the revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby
increased in the following amount:
08-2730-500001-479880 Minority
AIDS Initiative $184,940.00
Section 3. That
the appropriation in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is
hereby increased by the following amounts:
08-2730-505019-A Minority
AIDS Initiative $ 7,020.00
08-2730-505019-B Minority
AIDS Initiative 177,920.00
TOTAL
$184,940.00
Section 4. That the Director of
Health is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 08-2730-505019
for the aforesaid contract and is authorized to expend the sum of $184,940.00
from funds heretofore appropriated to the account.

there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
