RESOLUTION NO. 001640

 

Honoring Richard F. Davis upon his retirement as General Manager of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority.

 

WHEREAS, Richard F. Davis, General Manager, will retire from the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority on January 31, 2001; and

 

WHEREAS, Richard F. Davis has served twenty-three years as General Manager, administering a budget of $48 million, providing leadership to a staff of 800 and operating a bus fleet of 301 vehicles; and

 

WHEREAS, an expanded network of KCATA Park and Ride locations, establishing a Transit Center at 10th and Main and at Antioch Mall, securing annual funding from the State for KCATA operations, securing KCATA ownership of the Country Club right-of-way for possible light rail and establishing a 3.4 mile Trolley Trail for walkers and joggers on the Country Club right -of-way are just a few of Richard F. Davis accomplishments as General Manager of the KCATA; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby honor and commend Richard F. Davis upon his retirement from the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Richard F. Davis in token of the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for a job well done and their best wishes as he embarks upon his retirement.
