ORDINANCE NO. 970459

 

Authorizing the Director of Environmental Management to enter into an agreement with Deffenbaugh Disposal Service, Inc., for the collection and marketing of recyclables from the City's drop-off recycling sites for a one year period beginning May 1, 1997, and authorizing the Director to expend $128,088.00 in funds to be appropriated in the 1997-98 budget.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Environmental Management is hereby authorized on behalf of the City to enter into an agreement with Deffenbaugh Disposal Service, Inc., for the collection and marketing of recyclables from the City's drop-off recycling sites for a one year period beginning May 1, 1997, with options to renew the same agreement for two additional one-year periods under the same terms and conditions upon the recommendation of the Director. A copy of the said agreement is on file in the office of the Director of Environmental Management and is incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Environmental Management is hereby authorized to expend $128,088.00 from Account No. 98-100-085-2300-B from funds to be appropriated in the 1997-98 budget.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
