ORDINANCE NO. 931246
Authorizing a contract in the amount of $56,353.40 with G
& G Signals and Lighting, Inc. for construction of a traffic signal
modification for Truman Road at Prospect; estimating the receipt of a grant for
such work in the amount of $49,591.00; and appropriating such sum to the
project account.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the work of constructing a traffic
signal modification for Truman Road at Prospect Avenue, consisting of mast
arms, traffic controller, pull boxes, conduit and other necessary
appurtenances, in Council District 3, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri,
Project No. 4028, Federal Grant No. STPG-3398(402), is hereby provided for and authorized.
Section 2. That the work shall be done in
accordance with the plans, specifications and the contract therefore between
Kansas City, Missouri, through its Director of Public Works, and G & G
Signals and Lighting, Inc., a Missouri corporation, in the amount of
$56,353.40, which contract is hereby approved and confirmed. A copy of the
said contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works and is
incorporated herein by reference.
Section 3. That the revenue in the following
account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby estimated in the following
amount:

Signals $49,591.00
Section 4. That the sum of $49,591.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements
Fund, to the following account in the Capital Improvements Fund:
309-089-7705T Traffic Signal Interconnection
$49,591.00
Section 5. That the Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized to expend the sum of $61,989.00 from funds heretofore
appropriated to Account No. 309-089-7705T as and for consideration in the
aforesaid contract and for contingencies and engineering associated therewith.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
