ORDINANCE NO. [R-2013-00683]

 

 

Authorizing the City Manager to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for the use of federal funds for Transit Stop and Pedestrian Access projects.

 

 

WHEREAS, from time to time the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provides federal grants to the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) to fund improvements to bus and BRT stops and related roadway and pedestrian access infrastructure; and

  WHEREAS, the bus and BRT stops (KCATA Transit Improvements) and related roadway and pedestrian infrastructure (City Transportation Improvements) to be improved using KCATA and FTA grant funds are within right-of-way owned or controlled by the City; and

  WHEREAS, the City and KCATA intend to cooperate to assure maximum effectiveness of the bus stop and related infrastructure improvements; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for the completion of Transit Stop and Pedestrian Access projects funded through grants from the Federal Transit Administration. A copy of the Cooperative Agreement is on file in the Office of the Director of Public Works

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
