ORDINANCE NO. 911099

Approving and accepting a contract with the Missouri Department of Health whereby the State will provide $83,873.00 in funding for housing and non-medical services for persons with AIDS, authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with the SAVE Foundation whereby SAVE will provide those services for one year beginning July 1, 1991, and reducing revenue and appropriations by $16,127.00 to reflect that funding.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the contract between the State of Missouri, Department of Health, Personal Health Services, Bureau of AIDS Prevention, acting through its Director of Health, and the Health Department of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, whereby the State will provide funding in the amount of $83,873.00 for one year beginning July 1, 1991, for housing and non-medical services for persons with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is hereby approved and accepted. A copy of that contract is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the SAVE Foundation whereby the Foundation will provide the services described in Section 1 herein for one year beginning July 1, 1991, and for which the City will provide $83,873.00 in funding. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 3. That the revenue in the following account of the General Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

1-60332 SAVE Foundation Grant 1991-92 $16,127.00

Section 4. That the appropriation in the following account is hereby reduced by the following amount:

1-50314-B AIDS Education and Testing $16,127.00 ________________________________________________________

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
