ORDINANCE NO. 030790

 

Authorizing a $599,856.00 contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide HIV medications and services for persons living with HIV/AIDS and authorizing the Director of Health to amend the contract by up to $250,000.00 without Council approval.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the State agrees to provide HIV medications and services for persons living with HIV/AIDS, for the period from March 1, 2003 through February 28, 2004, for which the City will provide $599,856.00 to be paid from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 03-273-050-2447-B, is hereby authorized. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Health is authorized to amend the contract and contract amounts in Section 1 without City Council approval as long as the total amount of the amendments of the contract are not more than $250,000.00.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
