ORDINANCE NO. 980397

 

Authorizing two agreements for one year each in the total sum of $50,000.00 with Baker Environmental Consulting, Inc., and Somatopsych, Inc., to provide Project Lead-Safe 2000 program evaluation services and authorizing extension of the agreements in the additional amount of $25,000.00 subject to sufficient funds being appropriated.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Baker Environmental Consulting, Inc., acting through its officer of executory authority, to provide Project Lead-Safe 2000 program evaluation services, for the period March 1, 1998 through February 28, 1999, for an amount not to exceed $25,000.00, from funds previously approved in Ordinance No. 970692, in Account No. 98-275-050-2183, is hereby authorized. The said contract shall substantially conform to the contract which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Somatopsych, Inc., acting through its officer of executory authority, to provide Project Lead-Safe 2000 program evaluation services, for the period March 1, 1998 through February 28, 1999, for an amount not to exceed $25,000.00, from funds previously approved in Ordinance No. 970692, in Account No. 98-275-050-2183, is hereby authorized. The said contract shall substantially conform to the contract which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 3. In the event consultant has performed satisfactorily hereunder, and unless City gives written notice to consultant not less than sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of the term of this agreement, City shall extend the term of the agreement, under the same terms and conditions contained herein, for an additional maximum obligation of the City of $25,000.00, subject to the appropriation of sufficient funds.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
