ORDINANCE NO. 200820

 

Authorizing an amendment for $1,328,150.90 to an agreement with Black and McDonald to provide maintenance and repair of all Kansas City, Missouri traffic signals for a total contract amount of $7,089,398.96.

 

WHEREAS, on April 16, 2020, the Council approved Ordinance No. 200263, a contract with Black and McDonald for streetlights and traffic signals maintenance and repair for the amount of $5,761,248.06; and

 

WHEREAS, on August 13, 2020, the Council approved Ordinance No. 200572 amending the FY 2020-21 Adopted Budget due to City finances impacted by COVID-19, directing the Public Works Department to outsource repair and replacement of traffic signs and signals; NOW, THEREFORE, 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 with Black and McDonald for the period from November 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021 for maintenance and repair of all traffic signals to service all Council Districts for Project Number 89007627 in the Kansas City, Missouri traffic signal inventory in the amount of $1,328,150.90 with a total contract price of $7,089,398.96 from funds previously appropriated to the following account:

 

21-2060-892020-B Traffic Signal Maintenance $1,328,150.90

 

A copy of the amendment is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.

 

Section 2. That the Human Relations Department to assure fair representation by socially and economically disadvantaged groups, approved for this project, a fifteen (15%) percent representation by Minority Owned Businesses and a ten (10%) percent representation by Women Owned Businesses.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumber, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
