RESOLUTION NO. 970787

 

Authorizing the City Manager to proceed with the 1997-98 Clean Sweep Program in defined areas.

 

WHEREAS, the Council has designated cleaning the City as one of its highest priorities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council believes that City services should be delivered in accordance with community priorities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council believes that there is a viable partnership between the community and the City; and

 

WHEREAS, Clean Sweep is an innovative, interdepartmental public/private program to provide essential City services; and

 

WHEREAS, three highly successful sessions were recently held to gain public input on the Clean Sweep process implementation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has provided funding in the 1998 budget to implement the Clean Sweep process; and

 

WHEREAS, public input and anticipated service requirements were used to establish the Clean Sweep process in twelve zones of the City from August 1997 through June 1998; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to proceed with the implementation of the Clean Sweep process in the zones defined on Exhibit A, attached hereto.

 

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to proceed with the implementation of the Clean Sweep process for the initial twelve zones according to the schedule defined on Exhibit B, attached hereto.

 

Section 3. That the City Manager will provide an analysis prior to the submission of the next budget which has recommendations for the continuation of the Clean Sweep process.
