RESOLUTION NO. 171019

 

Honoring Mrs. Diann Watson on the occasion of her retirement after more than 39 years of dedicated service with the Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Court.

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Watson has been employed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and specifically with the Municipal Court since May 18,1978, and retired from public service on December 31, 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Watson began her work as a file clerk and switchboard operator. She has assisted with processing mail-in payments, bonds, bond releases and show cause hearings, responded to emails and correspondence from attorneys and defendants, and updated the daily court dockets; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Watson has worked as a clerk for four Municipal Court judges, assisted and helped train other clerks and has worked with various organizations including the Metropolitan Community Service Program (MCSP), the Municipal Court Fund Program (MCFP) and the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church Community Service Program; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Watson is a proud and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her plans include spending more time with her family and grandchildren and traveling around the country to see extended family, enjoying life, and volunteering in church ministry, with the Salvation Army and in the community; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Watson has left her mark on the Municipal Court by serving in a friendly, confident and professional manner, always exuding warmth and goodness; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize Diann Watson for her more than 39 years of service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof is presented to Mrs. Diann Watson with the thanks of the Mayor and Council and their wishes for a very happy retirement which she so richly deserves.
