COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 070137

 

Rezoning an area of approximately 3.3 acres generally located on the east side of Washington Street from 18th Street north a distance of about 225 feet, on both sides of Washington Street between 18th Street and 20th Street, from District R-4 to District R-1b, and from District M-1 to Districts R-1b, R-2b, R-4 and C-1. (13721-P)

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That Chapter 80, Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance, is hereby amended by enacting a new section to be known as Section 80-11A0734, rezoning an area of approximately 3.3 acres generally located on the east side of Washington Street from 18th Street north a distance of about 225 feet, on both sides of Washington Street between 18th Street and 20th Street, from District R-4 (Low Apartments) to District R-1b (One-Family Dwellings), and from District M-1 (Light Industry) to Districts R-1b (One-Family Dwellings), R-2b (Two- Family Dwellings), R-4 (Low Apartments) and C-1 (Neighborhood Retail Business), said section to read as follows:

 

Section 80-11A0734. That an area legally described as:

 

Lot 18, Block 7, Merriam Place, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri (1818 Washington)

 

is hereby rezoned from District R-4 (Low Apartments) to District R-1b (One-Family Dwellings), and

 

1731-1735 Washington The south 25 feet of Lot 8 and all Lot 9, Block 4, Merriam Place

 

412-422 18th St. Lot 11 except the north 17 feet of the west 60.175 feet, and all Lot 12, Block 4, Merriam Place

 

1811 Washington The south 25 feet of Lot 3 and the north 15 feet of Lot 4, Block 8, Merriam Place

 

1812 Washington The south 12.5 feet of Lot 15 and all Lot 16, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

1816 Washington Lot 17, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

1817 Washington The north 25 feet of Lot 5, Block 8, Merriam Place

 

1819 Washington The south 25 feet of Lot 5, and all Lot 6, Block 8, Merriam Place

 

1831 Washington The south 25 feet of Lot 8, Block 8, Merriam Place

is hereby rezoned from District M-1 (Light Industry) to District R-2b (Two-Family Dwellings), and

1825 Washington The north 37.5 feet of Lot 7, Block 8, Merriam Place

 

1827 Washington The south 12.5 feet of Lot 7 and the north 25 feet of Lot 8, Block 8, Merriam Place

 

1828 Washington Lot 20, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

1832 Washington Lot 21, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

1836 Washington Lot 22, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

1842 Washington The south 25 feet of Lot 23, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

500-518 W 20th Lot 24 and the east 1 foot of the vacated alley lying west and adjacent, Block 7, Merriam Place

 

is hereby rezoned from District M-1 (Light Industry) to District R-4 (Low Apartments), and

 

1805 Washington Lots 1 and 2 and the north 25 feet of Lot 3, Block 8, Merriam Place

 

is hereby rezoned from District M-1 (Light Industry) to District C-1 (neighborhood retail business)

 

All in Section 7, Township 49 North, Range 33 West, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri

 

all as shown outlined on a map marked Section 80-11A0734, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and which is hereby adopted as a part of an amendment to the zoning maps constituting a part of said chapter and as an amendment to Section 80-11 thereof.

 

Section B. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning Ordinance have been given and had.
