ORDINANCE NO. 920306
Authorizing the Mayor to execute a Quit-Claim deed
releasing any interest the City may have in two tracts of land located in
Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri to William D. and Marvel L. Woody for the purpose
of quieting title to such property.
WHEREAS, there currently exist on the record in the
office of the Recorder of Deeds for Clay County, Missouri conflicting deeds
covering two tracts of land in Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri, one being
located within the Gracemor subdivision and the other within the Randolph
Corners North subdivision; and
WHEREAS, those conflicting deeds purport to
establish conflicting ownership rights in the City of Kansas City, Missouri and
William D. and Marvel L. Woody, husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, the City has no immediate or foreseeable
future need for ownership of that property and desires that it be reinstated on
the rolls as tax producing property; and
WHEREAS, the City has reached an agreement with
William D. and Marvel L. Woody to receive certain easement rights for storm
drainage and sanitary sewer projects being undertaken by the City on or near
other properties owned by them; and
WHEREAS, in consideration of that agreement, the
settlement of all claims between the City and the Woodys and to quiet title to
such property, the City desires to release any and all claims which it might
have to such property; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri,
is hereby authorized to execute a Quit-Claim Deed releasing to William D. and
Marvel L. Woody, husband and wife, any right or interest which the City may
have in and to the following tracts of land located in Kansas City, Clay
County, Missouri, for the purpose of quieting title to those properties:
All of Lots 2, 3, and 4, Block 7, and Lots 18, 19
and 20, Block 1, GRACEMOR 4TH PLAT, a subdivision in Kansas City,
Clay County, Missouri.
All West part of Tract A, Block 12, RANDOLPH CORNERS
NORTH, 4TH PLAT, all of Lot A except the East 150' measured from the
East line, a subdivision of land in Clay County, Kansas City,
