COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 030827

Authorizing the Director of City Development to accept a $200,000.00 Brownfields Assessment Grant and a $200,000.00 Brownfields Petroleum Assessment Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and to execute a cooperative agreement therefor; estimating revenue in the amount of $200,000.00 in the General Fund; and appropriating it to the various Brownfields accounts of the General Fund.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of City Development, on behalf of the City of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to accept a $200,000.00 Brownfields Assessment Grant and a $200,000.00 Brownfields Petroleum Assessment Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Director is authorized to enter into a cooperative agreement with the EPA as a condition of the grant, in a form substantially as that on file with the Department of City Development.

Section 2. That the revenue in the following accounts of the General Fund are hereby estimated in the following amounts:

04-100-064-7672 Brownfields Assessment Grant $100,000.00

04-100-064-7673 Brownfields Petroleum Assessment Grant 100,000.00

TOTAL $200,000.00

Section 3. That the sum of $200,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following accounts in the General Fund:

04-100-064-2204-B Brownfields Assessment Grant $100,000.00

04-100-064-2205-B Brownfields Petroleum Assessment Grant 100,000.00

TOTAL $200,000.00

Section 4. That the Director of the Department of City Development is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account Nos. 04-100-064-2204 and 04-100-064-2205.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
