COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 180304

 

Directing the City Manager to amend the American Jazz Museum (AJM) 2017-18 Fiscal Year contract with funds from the $730,000.00 in the 2017-2018 Supplemental Budget Appropriation designated for AJM; directing the City Manager to delay execution of the Fiscal Year 2018-19 AJM contract renewal until after the Board refreshes AJM’s staff and Board leadership by May 15th as recommended in the Organizational Assessment; directing the City Auditor to use the City Auditor’s Office Audit Report Tracking System process to monitor AJM’s refreshed board of directors implementation of the recommendations; authorizing the City Manager to provide AJM with an Interim Executive Director; and directing the City Manager report back to Finance and Governance Committee by May 16th.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager is directed to amend the American Jazz Museum (AJM) 2017-18 Fiscal Year contract with funds from the $730,000.00 in the 2017-2018 Supplemental Budget Appropriation designated for AJM; directing the City Manager to delay execution of the Fiscal Year 2018-19 AJM contract renewal until after the Board refreshes AJM’s staff and Board leadership as recommended in the Organizational Assessment performed by Museum Management Consultants, Inc.; directing the City Auditor to use the City Auditor’s Office Audit Report Tracking System process to monitor AJM’s refreshed board of directors implementation of the recommendations; and authorizing the City Manager to provide AJM with an Interim Executive Director.

 

Section 2. That the City Manager is directed to report back to Finance and Governance Committee by May 16th.
