ORDINANCE NO. 990974

Accepting and approving a one year $217,500.00 contract with the Missouri Department of Health to provide funding for a Hemoglobinopathy Sickle Cell Resource Center; increasing revenue in the amount of $36,250.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund; and increasing the appropriation in the Hemoglobinopathy (Sickle Cell) Center account of the Governmental Grants Fund by $36,250.00.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the State of Missouri, Department of Health, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the State will provide funding for a Hemoglobinopathy Sickle Cell Resource Center for the period of July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000, for an amount not to exceed $217,500.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby increased by the following amount:

00-248-050-7291 00-Hemoglobinopathy (Sickle Cell) Center $36,250.00

Section 3. That the appropriation in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby increased by the following amount:

00-248-050-2325-B Hemoglobinopathy (Sickle Cell) Center $36,250.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
