ORDINANCE NO. 970804

 

Authorizing a one year $97,500.00 contract with Scott R. Steelman, D.O., to provide medical direction for the City's Occupational Health Program; authorizing the Director of Health to amend the contract by up to $35,000.00 without Council approval; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Scott R. Steelman, D.O., whereby Dr. Steelman will provide medical direction for the City's Occupational Health Program, for the period July 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998, for an amount not to exceed $97,500.00, from funds previously approved in Ordinance No. 960338, in Account No. 98-701-050-1541. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Health is authorized to amend the contract without Council approval. Contract amendments cannot exceed $35,000.00.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provision for the current expenses of the municipal government, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
